how to care for your ballinger pieces
Gold-plated and gold vermeil jewellery will have more longevity than other materials, however like all metals, is still fragile and requires care to maintain its beauty.
Our jewellery can be worn in the shower or bath, however wear in the sea should be ideally avoided as the salt water could be extremely harsh on the gold plating. Please consider other corrosive environments and products such as chlorine, hairspray, perfume and moisturisers. It is unlikely to happen, but these can cause the gold to loose its shine. We’ve taken great care to make jewellery that is as life-proof as possible, but we recommend that you do clean your jewellery from time to time. light Cleaning
We recommend gently cleaning your jewellery with a microfibre cloth or jewellery polishing cloth between wears.
deeper cleaning
Mix some dish soap in lukewarm water. Soak your jewellery in the water for 5 minutes. Use a soft cloth (microfibre is recommended) or your fingers to gently polish the surface. Rinse the jewellery in water and dry with a clean soft cloth.
